The Story of Calvary
The story is shared in Luke 23 where Christ is crucified along with two criminals on each side. As the people are ridiculing Jesus one of the criminals joins in, but the other one defends Jesus saying that Jesus had done nothing to deserve His treatment. The man then asked Jesus to remember him when he came into his glory. Jesus told him they would be together in Paradise.
The Story of Calvary Crosses in a set of three crosses depicting the interaction between Jesus and the two criminals. The center cross is the cross of Christ. The smaller dark cross represents the criminal that did not accept Christ and who will spend eternity in darkness. The other cross is made from flame box elder and the natural red color symbolizes the blood shed to provide salvation. The criminal on this cross acknowledged Jesus as Lord and will spend eternity in paradise.
